Which prompted me to order a set of license plate frame holders to replace their bullshit advertising.
I will arrive at the service department next weekend with a very smug look on my face.
I'm there to fix the stupid rearview mirror base again. This will be the third time that they fix it.
Someone at the dealership told me it was a very common issue, which lead me to believe that this shit is going to be an ongoing problem. They're just replacing it with the same part that will inevitably break. But I won't stop having them fix it again and again for as long as I can.
This isn't why I'm mad, though.
The salesman I dealt with last Saturday was as much helpful as he was knowledgeable about the car. Which he wasn't.
He also tried really hard to get me into the CVT.
I was like,

I'd consider going through dealers again if only salesmen weren't there.

Do they do the annoying thing where you bring it in for service - having already removed their cheap license plate frame - and pick it up with yet another one screwed on?

Buying a new car is one of the most fucking awful experiences a human being can have. Dealerships and their salespeople are scumbags.
The wait. The insincere shit eating grins. The patronizing.
Then when you're finally tired and broken, you agree on borderline acceptable terms, and you think you're out, but they pull you back in.
No, sir. It's not over.
Now comes the part where we twist your arm and talk about all the naughty and expensive bits that can blow up in your car. Like a turbo, perhaps! So, how's about you get our extended warranty?
NO! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD, NO! JUST LET ME GO! PLEASE, SIR! I BEG YOU!

I will fling my own shit at them if they do.
Those new frames cost me $14!
No, but seriously? Dealers have been known to do that? Because I'll have them reinstall mine back. Fuck that shit.

I thought maybe that's why you bought them. I doubt they'd put their own frames on it if you already have one, but if you brought it in with just the bare tag, I'm sure they'd dress it up for you. (and probably round the two minutes spent doing so into an extra hour of paid labor)

I saw it happen to my mother actually, but it was the plate frame from the dealer she bought the car at, which is different than the one she services it at, she had the old border from where she bought it for about 4 or 5 years, but recently, I noticed they switched it to the one she services at recently.

That Happened to me. I dropped it off and they put one on the front and the back. My Brother in law worked there so I was ok ish with it. then they turffed him because the owner is an idiot (No I'm Not taking this opinion because of who it was. the guy was truly an idiot. He tried to rehire my brother in law to work for the guy he replaced him with. This all happened in the meeting where he was terminated.). My wife came back from shopping with plate covers while I was cleaning the interior. All I heard was the cordless drill going off and done. I didn't even know she had them. the only thing funnier is how she answered the call when they tried to bring us in for promotional BS. Man, was she angry.

Man, that was one of the first ones I did to my car: put a plain chrome license plate holder on. I should look into something even more hilarious to put there, though—mine are getting a little old and one of the bolt cover things popped off, plus the front one got munched up in my wreck.

I would buy a high-quality OPPO license plate frame.
Currently rocking an SCCA one.

Dealer advertising on your car is the worst.
Let me get this straight: I'm paying you thousands of dollars for a vehicle, and you want me to drive around with your logo the back of my car? Nope.
At least most are easily peeled or flossed off.

Haha, come to think of it, a PCA one would be hilarious on the Lulzcer.

The guy looked as if I had asked him the meaning of life when I asked if the CVT rev-matched "downshifts".
